Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary 
                    This small protected mangrove forest area situated right in the heart of Kochi city, a haven for birds, is located on Dr. Salim Ali Road, adjacent to the High Court of Kerala. Winter migrants include species coming from Kashmir and even distant Siberia.
Best time to visit : mid- January to early March

Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary
                    Thattekad, the richest bird habitat on peninsular India covering an area of 25 square kilometre and was the first bird sanctuary in Kerala Several species of forest birds and water birds habituating this sanctuary which includes Indian pitta, Orange headed thrush, large billed leaf warbler, Jerdon's nightjar,  darter, bulbuls etc.

Thekkady
                    Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park; which is an important tourist attraction in Kerala. Thekkady the land of velvet lawns, hills, spice plantations, elephant groups, Indian Gaur (Bison), deer and tigers. You can enjoy the boating on the Thekkady dam while seeing the wild animals on the side forest.
